LET ME

Freedom Freedom to answer   I want my freedom To establish my kingdom I want to be independent To extend my strength Why do you curb my ability And ruin my capacity? What is my crime That you made me out of Rhyme Disfiguring my ideology With your ill-methodology? How do you expect a candle to illumine a room Without ignited flame? How can you sharpen the iron With instrument of wood? Free me to ease yourself Keep me and cease yourself Freedom is the answer As I want to go and gather Larger and sophisticated weather Make me independent.

EVERYONE HAS A SECRET

Part 2 "Oh my God! How i wish I could become like this guy.", Dan said to his friend Andy. "How can one person be just this spotless, handsome, intelligent with foresight too. His life is just too good for me. Imagine still he has money…" He continued.  Andy was not really that interested in the conversation. He was more focused on his unsolved term paper which they were to submit the next day. For Dan, he need not bother about that. As one of the campaign team of Samuel, his would be done for him, free of charge. "Hope you know all tha glitters is not gold huh?" Andy chipped in. He was a little attentive to hear what Dan was saying.  He dropped his pen, sat back on the desk, with his eyes now fixed on Dan. He looked at Dan with that kind of pity look. He seemed lost in thought, maybe thinking about Samuel but then, he seemed not to be so crazy with this Samuel Samuel trends that Dan can't stop talking about. It has actually grown from just ordinary ad...

EVERYONE HAS A SECRET

W e wish, we hope and we dream of life from special angles. We plan and work towards our plans but, as we grow, we begin to see realities. Sometimes our wishes Would come true. Not often though does what we hope for become reality. In the same vain, most of the dreams we had come as fairy tales somewhere in our lives. Like many, Dan walked into the den with a bag full of hopes and dreams. He became a lion in of one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning, UNN. He was admitted into the faculty of engineering.  For Dan, it has always been the wish, not only to answer a lion but to become a full fledged NUESSAIT. At the beginning, the enthusiasm was topnotch. You know, that euphoria of a newbie. He attended classes, tutorials and even night classes too. For his first semester, he was sure of himself as a first class material. He was ready to read but will the road still remain bare for him? That was a question that became the caption of his traction. It all started dur...

CONFUSION

All my day long labour Crack fall in pieces A reason I know to harbor The forbidden paradise.   A paradox case Critical course caused What it seem like -a phrase Hiccup highlighted and in hid   Illusive impression in fathom All that happen, always dogmatically Sounding tom-tom These move me frantically I can’t say for sure if I am right Neither do I accept nature is!

ANITA

I met Anita during the mid-semester break, last year. I returned to Lagos where I base, living with my elder brother. On one cool evening, Sunday precisely, I decided to take a walk down the street, taking a glimpse on the nature. The evening was alluring owing to the calmness of the atmosphere and the twilight at sight. It’s unlike the usual Lagos where every nook and cranny has a blasting noise. If not from the industries within, it would be from the thundering tiger generator blasting from all corners of the neighborhood. The evening reflected my village, Ovoko where the bird sings melodiously to entertain the freshness of trees and lakes. These memories can’t fade in a hurry. As I stepped out from my apartment, strolling down the neighborhood, I sighted what seemed like a bag of refuse, dumped near the refuse dump, just a stone throw from where I live. I had no interest on whatever that was inside since it’s a norm that people usually dumped refuse wrongly, not minding the aut...
